40+ STAYING AGILE & MOBILE FOR LIFE

At around forty years of age we start to notice a difference in our body. It’s about this age when we begin to see our first real signs of the aging process. We get a reduction in synovial fluid (fluid that lubricates our joints, aids freedom of movement and protects us from impact shock) and we lose height in our spine from compression.

Our vertebrae column is like an elastic rod, the mobility of which is restricted by the functionality of our ligaments. During the aging process our vertebrae undergoes various changes which reduces the thickness of our disks, resulting in spinal curvature (Kyphosis) which reduces our mobility. A reduction in synovial fluid makes matters worse by decreasing our freedom of movement and reducing our range of motion. This increases our misalignments and muscular imbalances which in turn increases injury and pain. When all of this kicks in it’s more important than ever before to become body conscious and improve the shape and condition of our body. Failure to exercise only makes the matter worse. When changes occur we need greater attention to detail than what mainstream fitness programs provide.

One of the main problems associated with exercising as we age is that most women over forty lose weight in the face and breasts before changing any other areas causing them to look older and haggard. FutureGym exercise is designed so that you can lose a dress-size without losing weight in your face or breasts. Excess fat is replaced with long lean toned muscle which makes you look years younger than your true age. In addition to this FutureGym exercises build bone density an important requirement as we age. An increase in bone density means that risk of fractures in later life can be greatly reduced.

FutureGym exercise teaches you how to go deeper inside your body to turn back on what’s turned itself off with age. It shows you how to work smarter not harder addressing your body comprehensively from the inside out in all three-dimensions because unlike in your youth, no other movement or activity is waiting around the corner to pick up the pieces you’ve left out. FutureGym exercise shows you how to retune neuromuscular coordination and strength in your pelvic floor muscles and teaches them to train and shape the outer layers of all of your muscles from within whilst freeing up movement in your hip sockets, realigning your skeletal frame, rebalancing your muscular system, lengthening your body and developing dynamic stabilisation. All of the things you need throughout menopause and throughout the aging process.

FutureGym exercises have a therapeutic quality and can be adjusted to suit every body. No other exercise program is more suited to this age group.

TEACHING CHILDREN GOOD HABITS

Our children today have entered a lifestyle where so many activities are stationary and repetitive! Modern technology and computerised gadgets are hugely responsible for obesity in children, poor postural and movement habits and over use syndrome which is the next main problem area we face as a result of repetitive hand and arm activity. While we as parents get busier in our own lives and put less time into our children we pave the way to creating unhealthy physical lives for the people we love!

FutureGym exercise can be practiced effectively by children from ages eight (8) and over. The physical comprehension level required to understand and apply the FutureGym working method is generally available at this age. FutureGym is also ideal for families to practice together. One of the advantages is that the exercises promote no separation of ability. Because all of the work is happening on the inside and there’s no impressive range of motion circus acts to perform, children with lesser ability get an equal opportunity to work on the same level as others with advanced skills.

FutureGym exercise teaches children new postural and movement habits for life. It accelerates sporting abilities and increases the performance levels in all up and coming athletes; developing stronger, more flexible, highly-functional and resilient bodies for a longer happier and healthier physical life!
