REPAIRING AN INJURY

It takes three seconds to avoid an injury
and thirty years to heal one!

Very few people get through life without experiencing an injury. The reminder of an injury can be anything from a sharp shooting/jolting pain (tightness and inflexibility of a muscle as in the case of a torn muscle or ligament) to a continual reoccurrence of the injury in unpredicted (spasmodic) or regular bouts of pain. Like a crease in a piece of cardboard once folded the weakest point in our body kicks in to take our weight-bearing load and this keeps us reliving our injuries.

FutureGym exercise teaches you how to turn every muscle in your body ‘on and off’ both collectively and individually to repair your injuries. The exercises are stationary, non-impact and gentle. At no time do they place strain or stress on your body, yet they are highly-effective at developing fast strength and flexibility. This makes FutureGym exercise an intelligent solution for injury repair and recovery.

Muscles need to be used after injury or we risk losing their functionality which promotes further problems in other areas of the body. The only way in which we can use a muscle safely following an injury is to directly engage the muscle that’s been injured and stimulate it from the inside outwards by sending gentle internal pulses deep into the muscle core. This activity sends new neuromuscular coordination signals to the brain which restores on/off functionality. Sending gentle contractions into the muscle whilst it is being lengthened to a new and safe resting position where pain is not re-experienced and using the breath to channel oxygen into the contraction allows all muscle tightness and spasm to disappear. Through practicing specific FutureGym exercises that directly relate to the area of your injury, pain can be relieved immediately within seconds and neuromuscular coordination and normal muscular activity can be restored in no time.

Once pain has dispersed and all signs of muscle tightness/spasm has disappeared you must identify why the injury occurred and eliminate the risk of it reoccurring again. FutureGym exercise allows you to identify and correct physical misalignments and muscular misbalances throughout your entire body. Failure to look at your body comprehensively following an injury is foolish. False loads that create injury need to be corrected or you will remain in an injury spiral. Remember 60% to 80% of all injuries are reoccurring and this is only because we fail to identify and address the cause of the problem. What makes it even harder is that injuries very rarely originate in the area where the injury has occurred. Mostly by the time an area has weakened it is an after effect reflecting a misbalance in a different area; a direct target into your weakest (unsupported) muscles driven by a more serious misalignment problem at a completely different part of your body.

FutureGym exercise teaches you a host of new tricks to take control of your body, to identify the root of the problem and make positive changes whilst rebalancing your body and restoring postural and movement freedom and efficiency. Learn and practice FutureGym exercise, bring your skeleton back into alignment and rebalance your muscular system whilst repairing an injury and reduce your risk of reliving your injuries!

AVOIDING SURGERY

Surgery is not your best option since it fails to correct the false loads placed on the skeleton which explains why pain continues following 20% of all operations and very few operations are stand-alone activities. Surgery should be your last choice when you are convinced that you have tried all other methods of repair and correction.

Stress, lack of movement and false loads are all factors of risk. The only way to improve your general state of health is to implement fundamental changes of behaviour and live into these new practices daily. FutureGym exercise provides clear instruction and explanation so that self-function can be diagnosed and you can accept and understand your responsibility in the healing process. FutureGym exercise also addresses all areas in detail where false loads can occur including the feet, knees, hips, pelvis, back, shoulders and neck; in fact all areas which affect movement quality!

FutureGym exercise teaches you how to turn every muscle in your body on and off. This gives you the ability to tune into how each muscle is feeling so that you can identify warning signals and take preventative action if required. Like a station master changing the course of an incoming train you can tune into ‘feeling and reacting’; giving your body an option to select and use alternative muscles to avoid further injury and to enhance repair. If you’re always injuring yourself, with FutureGym anatomy intelligence behind you your life will most certainly change!

RECOVERING AFTER SURGERY

Muscle weakness and tenderness is inevitable following surgery and it can take weeks or even months (depending on the nature of the injury) for confidence to be restored and for the area to be fully functional again.

One of the hardest issues to deal with is that while we are resting an area to promote healing other muscles in our body are becoming dominant to favour our weight-bearing load. When we are both mentally and physically ready to begin to use the area again we must reintroduce the area slowly without any risk of creating further stress or impact on the injury and this means avoiding all exercise that places stress, strain or pressure on the body. It means avoiding all exercise in the area of injury where physical movement is bigger than the muscle contraction itself.

FutureGym provides an intelligent set of gentle, stationary, non-impact exercises that work the body from the inside out in all three-dimensions to promote fast repair. Because FutureGym exercises place no stress whatsoever on the body and because they work three-dimensionally accessing your deepest core muscles they are extremely effective for surgery and injury recovery. They provide fast development of strength and conditioning giving you the confidence to manage your repairs.

From over 80 gentle therapeutic exercises you can select positions that give you comfort and aid your recovery process. There’s a variety of sitting, standing and lying down positions which means you have lots of choice and all positions can be modified to suit your starting ability. As functionality returns you can extend the number of exercises you practice and increase the depth of your work.
